How we turned a fashion trend into a scent with AI

One trend dominated in summer 2025: the Fisherman Aesthetic.

From runways to TikTok to our closets, the look was everywhere: striped cotton knits, boat shoes, sardine motifs, and rope accessories, evoking salt-splashed docks and mornings by the sea. It was mariner-core meets coastal prep, styled with an ease that felt nostalgic yet fresh.

At Generation by Osmo, we asked ourselves: what if this trend could be experienced not just visually, but through scent?

That’s where Olfactory Intelligence (OI) – our AI-powered scent design technology – comes in.

Translating fashion into fragrance.

We began with a visual moodboard of fisherman-core: rocky coastlines, cable-knit sweaters, and tidal pools. Then we uploaded this aesthetic into our OI platform.

The system translated those visual and cultural cues into a full fragrance formula – balancing airy, ozonic notes with marine notes, soft florals, and grounding woods.

The result is Where water ends: a limited-edition scent experience that captures the cultural ethos of Summer 2025.

The scent profile.

Top: Aldehydic • Clove • Apple

Heart: Berries • Herbal • Muguet • White floral • Lavender

Base: Driftwood • Cedarwood • Musk

Airy and ozonic, this scent opens with crisp aldehydes, clove, and a cool bite of apple. The heart blooms with white florals, tender muguet, lavender, and a hint of berries — like wild herbs tucked in a picnic basket. It settles into a base of sun-warmed driftwood, cedar, musk, and the soft gravity of wet stone.

Creating scent at the speed of culture.

Where water ends is more than a fragrance formula. It’s proof that scent can move as fast as trends themselves. Using OI, we can turn any mood, aesthetic, or cultural moment into fragrance – making scent as dynamic and expressive as fashion, music, or art.

For this exclusive drop, we produced a limited-edition batch of scent samples in our Manhattan perfumery lab, released in August 2025.

What’s next?

The Fisherman Aesthetic was just the beginning. As cultural aesthetics continue to evolve, so will the scents we create.

Because the future of fragrance isn’t just about bottles on a shelf. It’s about designing multi-sensory experiences that let us see, hear, wear, and smell the culture we live in – and the brands that shape us.
